Kerri Waterworth, 29, became worried after seeing what she thought was a spider on the crib camera for her five-year-old son Ellis Gooch on April 3.

But when she realised nothing was there, she kept a beady eye on the monitor and claimed a “linear orb” reappeared.

The footage shows what appears to be a shadowy arm stroking the boy’s leg, tummy and the top of his head, before drifting away.

Kerri claims her autistic son becomes upset by any disruption in routine, but appeared soothed by the phantom hand.

She said: “I wasn’t scared by it, more intrigued. I got a calming sense from the apparition. But I was slightly freaked out.”

The full-time carer believes that the “ghost” was of the boy’s great-grandmother, who was very close with him before passing away in 2016.

She said her son responded “gently” to the orb, adding: “Ellis has disabilities and his great-grandmother always worried about him so it makes sense to me that she would comfort him.”

The mum-of-two later shared the footage online to get some advice but became flooded with positive comments.

Kerri added: “I shared it online and most said they could see something stroking or comforting my son.

“Almost everyone commented saying they had a warm, comforting feeling from it.

“Others were freaked out, and of course a small few didn’t believe it and said it was dust.

“I worked at a care home and would hear stories of ghosts being seen in the home I worked in but never witnessed any myself.

“I haven’t witnessed any other ghosts since but I’m on my guard about it, so hopefully we may.”

It is not the first time a parent has made a scary discovery on their child’s baby monitor.

A couple are desperate to leave their family home after seeing a mysterious figure appear on their baby monitor.
